Supporting mental health
In this webinar that took place on 6 August 2020, Dr Leah Brennan (Clinical Psychologist – The Hillingdon Hospitals NHSFT) and Dr Helen Upright (Clinical Psychologist – North West Anglia NHSFT) talk about how their services are supporting the mental health of patients, staff, families and carers.
Type 2 diabetes management
Published in November 2021, the National Paediatric Diabetes Audit Type 2 Diabetes Spotlight Audit Report aimed to address a series of questions relating to the diagnosis and management of Type 2 diabetes in paediatric diabetes care. Key findings from the report highlighted Type 2 diabetes in children and young people was more prevalent in the most deprived areas and amongst ethnic minorities, and there were high rates of associated comorbidities including obesity, hypertension, fatty liver disease, and kidney disease.
As part of the report launch, Dr Evelien Gevers, Waseema Skogen and Elizabeth Nash shared resources and advice from the Barts Health children and young people’s Type 2 diabetes service in a webinar recorded on 30 November 2021.
